I am a Tufts University graduate and Kripalu-trained massage therapist specializing in Thai Yoga Massage and Structural Bodywork. I have trained with an incredible Kripalu staff - Michael Sitzer, Arti Ross Kelso, Anuradha, Ken Nelson - who provided the perfect foundation and first instilled the importance of presence and quality of touch. I have also studied structural/fascia work through the CORE Institute and Thai massage with Michael Sitzer, Shai Plonski of Lotus Palm, The Sunshine School, and several other teachers throughout Thailand. I have assisted Michael Sitzer in his trainings many times and credit him for first opening the door for me as a teacher and facilitator.
I teach a four-day Thai massage intensive as well as a range of introductory workshops. This is one of my favorite things in the world: teaching massage not simply as a series of techniques but as a transformative practice that builds connection and compassion for both giver and receiver. I have taught at yoga and dance studios, within the mental health field, and have presented at experiential education conferences. When I'm not practicing or teaching massage, my life is very full of the other things I love. I work at Mountainside Treatment Center in the Adventure-Based Counseling department, working outdoors with people in recovery. This facilitation job has influenced my massage teaching tremendously, and vice versa. I also play music, mostly the call-and response practice of kirtan, and I perform with Gypsy Layne Cabaret.
I absolutely love chocolate, am most inspired by people living courageously, have officiated a wedding, have spent time on European farms and in SE Asian hospitals, and will probably hug you the first time we meet.
